| Fort Harrison was built in 1811, by William Henry Harrison, on the Upper Wabash River as a precaution before the attack on Prophet's Town on the Tippecanoe River. An unsuccessful attempt was made to take it in 1812 by Miami and Wea warriors, but they were repeatedly repelled until reinforcements arrived. |
