Regions of the War of 1812

North America - from the bayous of the lower Mississippi River to the hardwood forests of Upper Canada and beyond, this enormous continent defined the War of 1812. The sheer size of the disputed territory set the conflict apart from the Napoleonic Wars taking place in Europe during the same period. Individual acts of heroism, leadership and treason often sealed the fate of vast tracts of land and water.
